Changes to Dubai International Airport Mean Improved services for Premium Passengers

Marhaba – a premium meet-and-greet service has had a significant start to the year; the company, whose services are there to accommodate to any passengers needs has opened two new lounges at Dubai International this year.

The new lounges located in Terminal 2 of the Dubai International, and Concourse A – the specifically built terminal for Emirates A380 airbuses which opened earlier in the year. They will provide an increased capacity for all passengers who are arriving and departing from the airport. There are 175 seats available in the Concourse A lounge and 75 seats available in the Terminal 2 lounge.

Marhaba was launched in 1991 and designed to help all passengers who are departing from and arriving at Dubai International Airport with speedy transfers, baggage handling and security clearance to ensure their travel through the airport is swift and hassle-free. Marhaba means ‘welcome’ in Arabic and the company guarantee guests will receive a warm welcome whether it is relaxed or grand.

Although Marhaba provide meet-and-greet services for any class of traveler, they are most valuable to business class travelers who need to travel without stress and may need to make preparations for their journey before they depart. In order for their guests to remain comfortable throughout their stay at the airport, Marhaba lounge features a range of facilities that business travelers can take advantage of. This includes a number of food services, as well as business centers that passengers can make use of to organised and prepare for their meetings. The lounges are open 24 hours a day and allow customers to book both in advance, or to simply walk-in.

The Divisional Senior Vice President for Marhaba, Jon Conway said:“We offer invaluable airport services to nearly a million passengers every year, from tourists and families to VIPs and corporate customers.  As more passengers discover the ease and delight of travelling with our help, we look forward to an even more exciting future.”

Dubai International Airport is also due to undergo extensive refurbishment; on Thursday, the airport announced that the runways will be upgraded over a period of 80-days starting from May of 2014. The renovations will mean that all charter, general and freighter services will be diverted to Emirate’s Dubai world Central airport instead.

Dubai International already currently close their runways for five hours each week in order to conduct some regular maintenance; the new enhancements however will require a much longer period of closure in order to be completed.

Emirates airlines are the largest airline which currently operates flights to and from the airport; the airline use a fleet of 185 Airbus and Boeing aircraft providing services to South America, North America, Asia, Africa, Middle East, New Zealand, Europe and Australia.

Emirates Airbus A380 aircraft set up home at Concourse A at the beginning of the year; the Concourse is home to lounges for both Business and First Class travelers – as well as Platinum and Gold members of Emirates Skywards. The Emirates Lounges offer customers a full bar service, a selection of freshly prepared food, television screens that have the news playing while you wait.

The lounges are designed for both tranquility and business. First Class passengers can relax in their dedicated lounge, whilst Business class passengers can indulge in a treatment or two at the Timeless Spa. Buffets, fresh juice bars, a la carte menus and private wine cellars are also available – the latter exclusive to First Class passengers. Business Centers and shower facilities are also available allowing passengers to catch up on any piece of business and freshen up before their flights.
